Rocky Needs Help - He’s Not a Typical Dog

He served three tours in Iraq as a patrol and explosives dog, but returned to America after his handler was killed. He’s lived at Camp Pendleton military base in southern California with a variety of handlers until this past March. That was when a degenerative condition forced him into early retirement.

Usually a retired military dog will be adopted by his handler, but Rocky doesn’t have one.

His known conditions include an enlarged prostate; mild hip dysplasia; and kennel sores. He lost the use of his hind legs and now uses a doggie wheelchair, but it doesn’t slow him down! He chases balls around the base like a regular dog.

Unfortunately, the kennels at the base aren’t equipped to give Rocky the care he needs. Which means that if Rocky is not adopted by August 24th, he will be euthanized. He can’t even go to a shelter because of military protocol.

Time is running out for this special guy, so please contact Camp Pendleton directly and immediately if you have questions about Rocky:

Do You Want Linkedin to Do This?

LinkedIn now uses your photo and name for “social advertising”: i.e., it allows third-party advertisers to use your identity to sell things.

LinkedIn automatically does this unless you tell it not to.

To opt out of using your identity, Go to your home page -> Click on your name at top right —> Click on Settings on the drop-down menu —> Click on Account at bottom left —> Click on Manage Social Advertising —> Uncheck the permissions box.

I’m amazed by how difficult Linkedin has made it to find this option.
